MPO, making vinyl
in France since 1957.
MPO began in 1957 as a vinyl manufacturer in France. It is one of the few pressing plants that produce records for Warner, Universal and Sony. Its plant in Villaines-la-Juhel handles pressing, printing and finishing under one roof.

Proper Sound has worked with MPO International since 2022 and has been its exclusive partner in Korea since 2023.

MPO offers a wide range of colours and effects. Classic and limited colours offer consistent colour reproduction, while marbled and splatter patterns vary from record to record.
MPO also prints and finishes packaging for high-end cosmetics and luxury products. Vinyl pressing and sleeve printing are handled in the same plant.
If a pressing defect calls for a remake, we remake it and ship it again. Proper Sound also manages the risk in transit.

Shawn handles every stage of making a vinyl record himself: source review, mastering, cutting arrangements, test pressing approval, printing and pressing, through to shipping and delivery. He has been making vinyl since 2020. Proper Sound has been MPO International’s exclusive partner in Korea since 2023. He has mastered more than 200 albums for vinyl and produced over 250,000 LPs.
On his own labels he chooses the titles and handles mastering, test pressing checks and artwork: classical on Proper Sound, and jazz on Primus Records, a jazz label based in Spain. Every test pressing is judged by both digital analysis and careful listening.
